Windows Developer - Stockport £18k - £25k This role is based within a successful software development company providing products and services to the insurance industry. The key responsibility of the job is programming; developing, maintaining and supporting programs. The main focus will be Windows applications. Further responsibilities include testing & quality assurance, ensuring program functionality and application integration meets customer expectations and company quality standards. Conceptualisation & Technical Design, contributing to the overall technical architecture of Windows development solutions. Experience required for this position includes: - Minimum HNC or HND in a relevant subject, with a Degree preferable, or equivalent experience. - Relevant specialist programming skills and knowledge of object orientated programming methodologies gained through formal training and commercial experience. - Proven ability in a related programming environment, preferably within an Insurance related role. - Proven ability of C++ or C#.NET and/or VB or VB.NET is essential. - Ability of Java and C is desirable. - Proven ability of object orientated programming & RDBMS development is desirable. - Experience of integrating Windows applications with other applications e.g. MS Office. - Communication skills – experience of communicating with clients and line management.
