Technical Author £18k - £25k Stockport This role is based with a highly successful software development company, producing software in the Insurance market. The role is to deliver documentation support for all the company's software applications. The key responsibility of the role is Technical Authoring; creating reference materials for application software. Additional roles include; creating and proofreading other internal and external documentation as required, ensuring that all materials meet quality standards, the highlighting of any issues and suggesting solutions to problems, working to deadlines, maintaining knowledge of current technical authoring tools and company applications. To apply for this position you need to have proven experience in a similar role, any insurance sector experience is beneficial. You need to be quality orientated, with experience producing high quality user documentation to deadlines. You should have authoring domain knowledge, including layout design, publication formats and knowledge of authoring tools such as Adobe RoboHelp HTML (X3 or X5) or FrameMaker. You also need experience in Microsoft Office, including Word Excel and Access and of PDF creation. Version control software experience is also required, such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe or CVS, ASP and HTML. Experience in Adobe Captivate or RoboDemo and VBA is also required.
