Vacancy Description
An Application Consultant/Developer works as a team member or as an individual on applications and development projects. He/she may be employed in a technical consultant or developer capacity as appropriate. He/she is responsible for supporting and delivering software and consultancy services that meet the needs of the customer and is delivered to agreed quality standards and timescales.

Essential Experience/Skills
-Experience of developing data-centric applications using Visual Basic .Net.
-Experience of developing solutions using one or more of the following technologies:
•Visual Basic (VB6/VBA)
•ASP (Classic/.Net)
•XML/XSLT
•BizTalk Server
•HTML/JavaScript
-Experience in developing databases in SQL Server and/or Oracle DBMS.
-Business analysis skills
-Software troubleshooting abilities
-Used to working in a structured, process driven environment (ITIL/PRINCE2 preferred).

Desired Experience/Skills
•Microsoft Certification in .Net development disciplines
•ITIL methodology and best practice experience
•Applications development and support experience in a Local Government environment
•Experience in developing applications that integrate with financial information systems
