Nortel Telephony Engineer - Voice - Support - West Midlands. This role will encompass fault resolution, root cause analysis, change management, capacity planning, supplier management, documentation, training and administration of the management systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Undertake technical troubleshooting as requested in support of the global telecommunications infrastructure, adhering to the incident, problem and escalation processes.
Manage the day-to-day moves, adds and changes on the UK telephony infrastructure
Administrate the available Management Systems to provide effective monitoring and alerting of the telecommunications infrastructure.
Regular communication with end users, colleagues, management and external suppliers worldwide in support of the telecommunications infrastructure.
Collect data, using appropriate Network Management tools, analyse results, perform modelling and forecasting where necessary, so as to support policy and planning activities.
Ensure that documentation of the supported systems and software is available and in an appropriate form for Incident management. Research technologies and provide technical training for Service Centre staff.
Gather and record service level information. Produce statistics for use in measuring key performance indicators.
Implement changes, maintenance routines and resilience testing, using the appropriate tools, test equipment and adhering to the change process.
Support the project engineers and architects in the engineering of solutions, problems encountered and final handover of delivered projects.
To check and report on new equipment or configurations to ensure integrity and maintain ability of the telecommunications infrastructure.
Skills Required:
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate experience in the following:
Nortel CS 1000 platform (Succession release 5 upwards), Symposium (CC6), Call Pilot, Agent Greeting, IVR, IPT, OTM (TM3), ISDN, Cisco Routers and Switches, DHCP/DNS
Knowledge of Qfiniti Call Recording and Workforce Management (TotalView) will be an advantage.
Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
Ability to work on initiative, analytical thinking and ability to prioritise effectively is essential.
