This is an outstanding career opening for a talented Lead Systems Integrator to lead the systems team to develop, and maintain the infrastructure behind the multi-award winning .co.uk website. We are already the leading UK newspaper site and have exciting plans to extend our brand further in 2009. You will be managing a team of six highly skilled integrators, working closely with Agile development teams and the Systems Architect to deliver a robust, highly available and maintainable infrastructure for our sites, thus allowing the successful transfer of products and services from development to operations.

The ideal candidate will have expert UNIX skills, with experience of working on large web sites in a J2EE environment, and a solid understanding of relevant network protocols. You will be eager to learn new technologies and possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills. You will also have experience of managing teams to meet deadlines and of improving the systems and procedures they use. Experience of Agile development will ensure a smooth and productive first few weeks.
