Support Engineer
Our FTSE 100 Client based in Derby is looking for a Support Engineer to join their expanding team. The essential role of the support engineer is to provide application support to our customers and local support for a Microsoft software development team
CANDIDATES APPLYING MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN SC CLEARANCE! This means a minimum of 5 years in the UK and without leaving for longer than 3 months!!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support call management and resolution;
Development and deployment of application changes, fixes and utilities.
Application changes will be done using .Net, VB.Net and SQL
Supporting the clients bespoke systems
Essential Experience/Skills
• Experience of working in a structured application support role.
• Exposure to formal change, configuration and release management processes.
• ASP.Net support (VB.Net)
• MS SQL 2000 or above fundamentals.
• Analytical approach to testing, debugging and problem solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication (English).
• This role may require some travel throughout the UK as dictated by customer and business demands.
Desired Experience/Skills
• C#
• Experience of supporting Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 solutions.
• Exposure to ITIL.
• Current driving Licence

• Must be willing to work flexible hours (between 07:00 and 19:00).
• Possible requirement to include on 24/7 support on-call rota (additional payment).
