Job Title: Systems Architect Location: Gloucestershire Salary: £Competitive + Excellent benefits A worldwide leading technology company specializing in defence electronics is looking for a Systems Architect to work within its core defence communications division. As Systems Architect you’ll be putting your expertise knowledge in full lifecycle systems engineering in the development of defence communications. The role You’ll be expected to provide the systems engineering and integration aspects of design, development and/or production projects through all stages of the project lifecycle; within a defence communications centred business. Responsibilities: - Leading system engineering aspects of development on communications and Electronic Warfare tenders and projects - Ensuring that systems engineering processes are employed throughout the project lifecycle - Providing technical leadership of multi-disciplined engineering team - Providing technical input to project estimating and controlling processes - Requirements management and sub-contractor liaison - Leading bid preparation Required skills: You’ll need to have strong experience in a systems engineering role working on complex defence related projects along with knowledge of validation and verification techniques. A practical knowledge of requirements management including working with stakeholders and the ability to lead design reviews will also be required. You’ll also be totally conversant in receivers, transmitters, signal processing and high-level software as applied to equipment and systems in the DC – 3GHz frequency range. The ideal person will be a technical specialist in VHF/UHF/RF based military systems with experience of defence contracting and the bid process.
