Embedded Software Engineer £25-35k + benefits Bristol A quickly growing software firm are looking for an additional software engineer with embedded software experience (and ideally some web app experience) to join their team. Although the majority of your work will be embedded software for their high-tech product (incorporating high-tech comms and multimedia compression/algorithms), there is a LAMP-based web interface to this product that you will have to work on. Ideally, you will be familiar with some web app development (either through work or as a devoted hobbyist!) - although for a strong embedded software developer, the company will be happy to cross-train you. Any experience in related fields (telecoms - more switches than handset-based, digital TV or audio/video/multimedia devices) is highly desirable but by no means essential. In return you'll learn some highly desirable and very interesting technical skills, from a software team with decades of cumulative experience and an impressive back catalogue of 'blue chip' former employers. Required: - Embedded C/C++ development experience - Web application development - ideally with one or more of Linux, Apache, MySQL and Perl/PHP/Python Desirable: - Experience within a digital TV/audio/video/multimedia or network/wired comms company The successful applicant must be self motivated and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
