Business Objects Developer required for Government client in Midlands. The Business Objects developer will have very strong skills with Business Objects, (XI preferred) and potentially have experience either working directly with Government clients or on Government projects. The Business Objects Developer will ideally have specific experience with implementing BO Xi2 Release alongside a strong background with sql.

The Business Objects Developer will assist the clients BO resources on this project; The Business Objects Developer will be an excellent communicator and have experience of delivering data Integrations and Universe Design.

Responsibilities & Objectives:

Work with staff and other BO developers to understand, document, validate and agree their business and information processes in order to achieve a common understanding
Identify options in which to progress business requirements into systems design
Liaise between all impacted areas and ensure consistent interpretation of business and information processes
Build and maintain good working relationships with the people
Immediately flag any risks which have arisen or any changes to the status of a risk which was previously identified to the Team Manager
Transfer knowledge of developments/project work to client team members
Knowledge/Experience:

Experience with Business Objects data Integrations and Universe Design, XI preferred, but experience with other versions of Business Objects will be considered
experience of data base analysis in a variety of environments and industries
Solid understanding of rational databases and Client Server concepts
Solid understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL)
Experience of report creation and analysis from a user perspective using Business Objects
Experience of a medium size project environment
Familiarity with structured methodologies and how these can be tailored to suit circumstances
An appreciation of the public services sector, including organisations and responsibility
Proficiency in the use of desktop PC packages
An awareness of the systems used to support the business
Experience of working within IT (hardware, software, systems) development & testing initiatives
