C#.Net, ASP.Net Developer / Contract / Kent
Amoria Bond are currently looking for a C#.Net, ASP.Net developer for a contract based in Kent. As a C#.Net, ASP.Net developer you will be involved in building a application The application will be built using the Microsoft product set, including C#.NET, ASP.NET (2.0), SQL Server2005. Experience of these technologies is essential, as is the knowledge of IIS and the deployment of such an application to a web environment using Nant scripts. Experience of Visual Sourcesafe is preferred.
Are client has data in the current system is stored in a number of spreadsheets so an experience of Microsoft Excel, including macros is preferred. You will be liaison with the Web Designer to incorporate the system design into the application. Thus knowledge and experience of HTML, CSS, XML and Javascript is essential.
Key Tasks
1. Use available data and experience to estimate the cost, effort and elapsed time for a piece of programming work, including unit testing, as a time-boxed set of iterations.
2. Plan personal work and occasionally the work of others to ensure deadlines are achieved and priorities are respected.
3. Define problems, objectives, and approach for feasibility studies. Carry out the necessary research and use information gathered and past experience to document options and make recommendations.
4. Create logical data models and ensure that data definitions are consistent with them. Advise junior staff on data issues. Write scripts to create and update relational databases.
5. Create object models, ensure these are maintained to be consistent with program code Determine what parts of the overall model should be implemented in each iteration. Advise junior staff on model issues.
6. Develop & maintain component models & specifications for non-critical components and ensure these are maintained to be consistent with program code Advise junior staff on design issues.
7. Perform unit and integration testing of complex or critical parts of the system, in accordance with the testing standards. Quality assure the testing of junior staff to ensure it complies with standards for unit and integration testing.
8. Liaise with database administrators, usually on small projects, to ensure that live databases are supported effectively.
9. Maintain a detailed knowledge of applications, object sets and databases in order to investigate and fix complex bugs or complex data errors that may affect more than one class or table.
