•Educated to degree level or has IT skills experience
•Experience of application development, analysis, design, programming, testing for a large and complex mainframe IT system using industry best practise standards
•A strong customer and business focus with the ability to provide a service to demanding customers
•PC literacy using the main MS products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
•Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, articulate both orally and in writing to a large audience Demonstrable aptitude and persistence for investigating and resolving problems in relation to a high-profile 24/7 IT service
•Ability to organise, prioritise, multi-task, meet requirements and deadlines while working under pressure. Work fluidly in a team or autonomously.
•Awareness of and commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the workplace.
Desirable: Please focus on top three knowledge / skills factors
•Siemens mainframe and SAG ADABAS/NATURAL software and knowledge of web technologies (Java, J2EE, XML) and software testing management tools
•A good understanding of the PNC system and its interfaces with external IT systems (e.g. National DNA Database; NFLMS; DVLA)
•Understanding the effectiveness of good Service Delivery and Service Management processes, with the Foundation Level qualification in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and knowledge of ITIL management tools.
