Working for a leading FTSE 100 during on of their strongest periods of growth. you will be responsible for the following: To analyse current data structure, liaise internally with the Systems and Development teams and Data Architects to provide improvements to existing designs in accordance with Best Practices. Evaluate current and scripted ETL processes and to make full use of SSIS to improve reliability of data transfers. To proactively monitor performance and act on findings to make improvements. Manage data requirements from the Business and Technical teams. Follow existing data standards, suggest improvements to those standards and ensure that all relevant documentation is up to date. Will work in conjunction with, and may deputise for, DBA team, to set up and configure systems to optimise performance, management, administration, installation and configuration of SQL Servers in the Live/Preview/Integration and Development environments •Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2000 in a high availability environment. •Knowledge of different database structures essential •Knowledge of SSIS (SQL Server System Integration Services) and DTS (Data Transformation Services). •Expert in SQL Scripting and writing stored procedures. •SQL Performance Monitoring and Tuning using SQL Profiler. •Knowledge of SQL Reporting Services and reporting requirements gathering. •SQL Development skills. •Exposure to ASP.NET and C# would be an advantage. •Windows Server 2003, Active Directory and Sharepoint (WSS/MOSS 2007) •Ideally hold Microsoft Certification.
