My client; a specialist in mobile user experience optimisation currently has an exciting opportunity for a technical support engineer. This is a permanent role to be based in Surrey. Although travel to client sites and European offices will be required on an ad-hoc basis.
The purpose of your role is to be responsible for the maintenance of customers mobile network test systems. You will provide first and second line support either via phone, email, remote access to the customers systems or occasional site visits.
Your duties will include:
•Product Support for customers in the UK (who are mostly along the ‘M4 corridor') and Ireland.
•Looking after the Support Infrastructure.
•On site customer care when necessary.
•Operational Support.
Your technical skills must include most of the following:
•Demonstrable technical knowledge of wireless data technologies; GSM, GPRS, 3G, HSPA.
•Good knowledge of mobile applications such as; WAP, MMS, SMS, Video Telephony and Video Streaming.
•Demonstrable hands-on knowledge of databases (Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005) and SQL.
•Experience with MS Windows platforms dealing with installation, configuration and support; Windows 2000, XP, XP Embedded and MS Windows Servers 2000 and 2003.
•Experience with Internet technologies and applications protocols such as; TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP and POP3.
